It is once again Halloween time. If you need some ideas for your little girl or teenager, go back to olden times with a rag doll type costume but with a modern day twist. Here is some tips on how to do this.
A homemade rag doll costume is actually inexpensive and fun to make. If making one for a little girl, use washable hair dye instead of purchasing a wig. Red is the most popular color but add some fun streaks to throw in a modern day style. Blue or purple is other ideas to use. Make pig tails on each side of her head. Or make crazy braids with different hair clips for some exciting fun. Add a cute solid colored bonnet for her head or a straw hat. Add a ribbon to decorate her hat.

Use face paints or simply use mom’s makeup for her face. Use red lip gloss or lip stick to match the hair. Make freckles on her face if she has none. The eye shadow should coordinate with her hair, costume, and lipstick.
The costume can be made simply by having her wear a dress with a pair of red and white tights. The same goes with a short blue mini skirt with tights and a white designed blouse. A comfortable pair of walking shoes is a must for her feet will not be sore when trick or treating.
